With nearly 15 years of specialist AV distribution experience and a deep technical understanding of LED technology, Mike joins Solstice AV to help accelerate growth and support customers with tailored, service-driven solutions.

Solstice AV, a UK-based distributor of professional AV solutions, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Day as Technical Sales Manager – LED, reinforcing the company’s commitment to growth, innovation, and customer-first service in this growing and evolving marketplace.

Effective immediately, Hampshire-based Mike brings almost 15 years of knowledge and experience in the AV industry to the Solstice team, including more than three years of hands-on LED expertise and over a decade in distribution-focused roles.

During an accomplished career, Mike has developed a positive reputation for his customer-centric approach, building solutions that are tailored to clients’ exact needs, rather than relying on off-the-shelf, brand-led options.

Reporting to Solstice AV Company Director Paul Midwood, Mike joins the team at a time of significant opportunity for LED in the UK, as demand continues to grow across an ever-expanding range of markets, including corporate, education, and extended reality (XR) environments. Solstice AV works with a growing number of leading global LED manufacturers, including PPDS (Philips Professional Displays), BOE, LianTronics, and more.

LED-ing the way
Mike will be instrumental in developing Solstice AV’s technical sales capabilities and supporting the company’s strategic growth and expansion ambitions in the flourishing market. Recent figures valued the LED display market at over £1.65 billion in 2024, and it is expected to reach £2.37 billion by 2033.*

Key responsibilities in the role will include, but are far from limited to, identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships, developing scalable technical proposals, supporting the integration of LED into new verticals and applications, and ensuring Solstice AV becomes a national destination for complete LED solutions, together with best-in-class customer service and support.

Commenting on his new position, Mike said: “What attracted me to Solstice was the energy, drive, and service mentality that runs through the business. Paul Midwood and the team are building something genuinely exciting, and I saw an opportunity to contribute from the ground up. My goal is to ensure we listen closely to what our customers need and then help design solutions that not only meet expectations but exceed them.”

He continued: “Solstice already has a great reputation in the market. Now it’s about expanding our technical capabilities, building up our internal knowledge base, and delivering the right solutions at the right price point. Whether it’s a corporate boardroom or an XR stage, we’re focused on getting every job right for every customer.”

Solstice AV Company Director, Paul Midwood, added: “Mike brings a wealth of experience, deep product knowledge, and an authentic passion for service that perfectly aligns with our values. He’s not just a knowledgeable product expert; he’s a passionate customer advocate, and that’s exactly what we look for at Solstice. We’re thrilled to have him on board as we grow our LED capabilities.”
